Detox

For the past several years I've bounced back and forth between a healthy/unhealthy lifestyle. I will quit smoking, start running again, practice yoga, feel terrific...and then something lousy will happen and I'll buy an pack of American Spirits, foolishly telling myself I can have one now and then. Before long I am back out on some stoop smoking like it's my job.

Day four, smoke free! Encouraging comments (and success stories) welcome - although reminders that "smoking is disgusting", however true, aren't very helpful to me.

Camilla Engman, once I was a smoker

Jen, I was once a devoted smoker and I quit and I'm sure when you do you will be so proud of yourself! Drinking water is a great idea and being good to yourself is important too!
I especially like your title Glassine and your image for your Etsy shop...just great looking.
Oh, I am Mary Ann and I'm not sure how I found your blog but I am glad I did...your work is wonderful!

Thanks so much Mary Ann! We have something else in common - my Mom's birthday is August 17th as well. I chose that day to quit.

I was a smoker for over 15 years. Then it got to embarrassing to smoke, sneaking around. So I decided to quit, it was much easier than I thought it would be. I've been happy about it for years now. (I still smoke a small cigarr once in a while :)

I'd long since stopped smoking in the apartment, or inside at the studio - but having to go outside, sometimes in the pouring rain or driving snow like a big dope was truly embarrassing.

Some bad headaches, but so far so good!
