Salzwedel is an L.A. based artist who started a line of resin belt buckles after art school, and continued to explore the material in his fine art. I wish I could see them in person. There are some installation shots on his site that give a sense of their depth. As with Celmins' images I posted the other day, there are some things the internet just can't replicate.

I love these, particularly the boat, tree rig, oil rig, Fall .. all on his site. I always respond to graphite work. I found where they sell his buckles so next time you are in the East Village you can see his work close up. They don't have a website yet. The comments on this link are funny about the clerks.
