New Direction

I've been drawing a lot recently, and am beginning to translate some of these ideas into paintings. It's been slow, but I'm excited about it.

These are looking really good, Jen! I like the the sense of 'morphing' some of the objects have, that feeling that they are alive and changing form or moving because of how they are drawn. Nice work.

these are beautiful, I like the contrast between the linear detail of the drawings and the atmospheric quality of your paintings. a perfect union.

Nice series. They really have an organic feel. And I love the look for your art table too.

This is the most fun part with following a blog(person), to see what will happen next. This look intriguing.

Holy! I came in via normblog and those drawings are awesome - I can't wait to see the paintings.

I gotta think about how I feel about these: there's a sense of unease I have looking at those textures. "Organic" (from Seth) sounds right, and "alive" and "morphing" (from Tim) make sense too. But there's something about the use of line, like I would be touching something that I wouldn't be sure was alive, that makes me wonder.

These are really some beautiful studies in the use of line. I'm so envious since I'm not great with line. I'm curious and excited to see where they lead you. =0)
