What next?

I already had too much going on, and didn't get to paintings I started on venetian plaster in time for the show (detail below). But I'm excited to experiment with it, and also finally dip into other materials. I shot Richard Russell an email to ask about his use of encaustic, and he gave me lots of helpful info.

So I bit the bullet and purchased a tacking iron and a heat gun (no open flame for me, thanks) at R&F. I mostly want to use wax as a layer/surface/binder more than do actual encaustic painting. I also want to mess around more with pen and ink, graphite, etc. and develop some forms without getting sucked into colorville.
